[edit] 1 Purpose

The signal of the local oscillator is used to convert the signal from low (intermediate frequency IF) to high (radio frequency RF) frequencies. It has to be stable and at a precise frequency.

[edit] 2 Material

  • Adaptor SMA male to BNC female
  • RF cable (RG58 type) with BNC connectors
  • Oscilloscope

[edit] 3 Procedure

  1. Connect the Oscilloscope to the local oscillator output on the back of the PC
  2. Start acquisition
  3. Check the frequency of the signal, it should be 60 MHz
