D3: S-parameter (S11) of antenna

[edit] 1 Purpose

This procedure allows to measure the reflectivity of each antenna. A high reflectivity can be due to a broken antenna or to a bad match. Check connectors and cables.

• Network Analyzer (NA)

[edit] 3 Procedure 1

1. Stop acquisition
2. Calibrate the NA for a S11 measurement
3. Measure in sequence each antenna by connecting the NA directly to the input of the antenna divider

1. Stop acquisition
2. Disconnect the RF signal cable from the amplifier input (Media:PictureAmpInputDegreane.png)
3. Calibrate the NA for a S11 measurement
4. Connect the NA before the antenna switch
5. Configure a one-measurement (vertical) cycle
6. Start acquisition
7. Measure S11 with the NA
8. Repeat steps 5 - 7 for each antenna
